ONE: Nature catches all the spillages
Nature accepts without question
We each take a little space
A place in the line up
Nature cherishes us
Nature does not care when we die
TWO: The Ground catches what is dropped
The Ground neither rejects nor criticises
All living beings are tied to The Ground
Each has their place in the structure & order of things
The Ground wraps us in a gravitational bear hug
The Ground takes no notice when our Lights go out
ONE: The Law says:
Do what you will
The Law says:
Do No Harm
The Law requires:
Gravity to be honored
TWO: Cosmic Ordinance #06931 says:
Do what is in your true volition
Cosmic Ordinance #12876 says:
First, do no harm. Second, support life. Third, grapple with disease.
Cosmic Ordinance #00027 requires of you:
That Gravity & The Ground must always be honored.
1: Laws of Nature
2: Are for suckers
3: I float free
My quarks have deconfined
Gravity means nothing
Everything expands and repulses
Rippling & pulsing
The plasma lamp in your memory
The white lightning bolt
The shreds of decency
Stripped away, made naked
Made bare
Made void
I am the voice from the shadow
I am the bolt from the blue
I am the gun pointed at the mirror
I am the monster under the bed.
From an exercise at writer’s group where the idea was to write twelve lines on a word/topic then remove the word and replace/rewrite. The topic found was the laws of nature. I split parts one and two in the middle: ‘Nature’ and ‘The Law’. With extra time, an antithesis appeared.
My opposite at the writers’ group [there were only two of us this time] said he would like to see ‘Laws of Nature are for Suckers’ on a bumper sticker so I have created one, since at least one sale was highly likely: [image and zazzle link forthcoming later today, 2/18]
