Vote Forward (https://votefwd.org) connects volunteers to voters to increase voter turnout without resorting to partisanship. I have updated my statement that I’ve used on Vote Forward letters and also in my own postcard campaigns. It’s included below. I still have some of the Victory 2024 postcards left and I have been printing out and gluesticking a sticker over ‘victory 2024’ to say ‘United We Fight It’, but I think I’ll be changing it to ‘Free & Fair Elections 2025’ for the remainder of the pile.
I vote because I want to protect the freedom & rights of all the people in the USA. Because I want a rule of law, not an authoritarian rule by fiat of intimidation & oppression. Because I want a rational & functional government based on truth not lies, safe air, water & food, free secular schools, working affordable utilities and a peaceful public order. Because I believe in the good intentions of the vast majority of the people on Earth. I believe that our collective self-determination is a better way to order our communities than authoritarian power-over by the few who would happily take our choices, rights & freedoms from us.
