disassemble your parts
what are you in there?
The Jenga tower of nervy pieces
chain reaction machine
The phonemes bind together
with fitful flowing notions
as keening winds of chatter
With no more time permitted
-unscrew the hunger-
and get
No answer
-just the ringing empty-
ascending skyward, vines
entwining ‘round the moon
against the cold of nothing
Shining, gazing down
hurling unsought solace
There is no promise of peace
nor foretelling of pain
Despair drifts into sleep
reducing down to nothing
The becoming of each second
spalls off strange imaginings
Lithe and agile, poised and floating
There are things that we do
-and there are things that happen-
so many layers below the eyes
so many layers below the statistics
depths beneath the speeches and small talk
There, you see?
your -understory-
So unlike this clock-world we built
-you are stranger-
